ABOUT

David Hamilton is a contemporary artist and art teacher who lives and works in Melbourne, Australia. His practice focuses upon painting and drawing, exploring the genres of landscape, portraiture and still life.
His work shows a range of stylistic approaches often emphasising formal and abstract values.
Particularly evident in his paintings and tonal drawings is a preoccupation with surface. These display a reductive, almost minimalist approach to his expression of subject, which take on a symbolic presence.

His work has been exhibited both in Australia and Internationally.
